Search for the Stars is Research Junior Football Clubs Player Recognition Program where one team member in the entire club is acknowledged each week – and also the recipient of a $25 RJFC voucher (yes, it can be used at the Canteen!).

Round 1 Search for the Stars Player of the Week went to Hugh Hegarty of the u15 Boys.

Hughy is still new to Footy – probably only his 15th or so game.   Plays as a mid-sized forward and has been building into a game like this for some time – he was probably one of only a few who stepped up in our final last year and I felt he wasn’t far away from this break out game.

He’s had a very solid pre-season and really narrowed on his forward craft work.   6 goals (and robbed of one more), had a hand in another 3 and unselfishly took himself off at ¾ time to give a few new boys a decent run.

Hughy receives a $25 RJFC Club Voucher. Enjoy Hugh, don’t spend it all on the egg & bacon rolls!
